Books Read in 2019

Books I read in 2019

I’ve already read nine books in 2020 (thanks to Coronavirus social distancing measures and a lot of doctor-ordered time spent soaking in the tub to recover from a couple of surgeries – but that’s another story) but before I tell you about those books I want to go back and share with you the books I read in 2019.

To keep track of the books I read 2019, I created a visual bookshelf in my bullet journal (similar to the one I created in 2018). I drew little blank books in my journal then added the title and colored it in each time I finished a book. In addition to this, I kept a list of the books I read and gave each book a star rating on a one star to five star rating. I listened to many of the books on audio through Libro.fm. (Libro.fm is an amazing platform for listening to audio books that supports local bookstores). In order to remember which books I “read” on audio, I drew a little headphones icon next to the book. I read 35 books in 2019 – I started a few others that I didn’t keep reading and I started some late in 2019 that I finished in 2020.

I will write some book reviews of some of my favorite books from 2019 in the weeks to come and post the reviews right here on my blog. For now, however, I’ll simply give you a list of what I read that includes the title, author and genre where the book is shelved at Content Bookstore, the Indie Bookstore in Northfield where I work.

Speaking of which, it’s a super good time to support Independent Bookstores like Content Bookstore right now as we are not able to have customers in the store until the end of March because of the Coronavirus pandemic. All of the Indie Bookstores I know of are offering other shopping options though! Content, for example, is open 7 days a week from 10-5 for online and curbside pick-up and even offers free local delivery and will ship books for 99 cents. While you’re at it, be sure to help other independent businesses, restaurants and coffee shops by purchasing gift cards or ordering things to go!
